Birth & postnatal doula · Kent

A doula in Kent, from first session to fourth trimester.

I'm Steph, a full-spectrum doula supporting families across Kent through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum — at home, in birth centres, and in hospital.

Doula support across Kent

I support families throughout Kent, including Dartford, Gravesend, Medway (Chatham, Gillingham and Rochester), Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Ashford, Canterbury, Whitstable, Margate, Folkestone, and Dover.

Antenatal and postnatal visits happen in your own home, so everything we practise feels familiar on the day. If you are further away or would prefer it, virtual sessions are available too.

What a Kent doula can do for you

  • Prepare you and your birth partner with four in-depth antenatal sessions
  • Help you write birth preferences and understand your options, so decisions stay yours
  • Stay with you continuously in labour — comfort, positioning, massage, and calm reassurance
  • Support communication with your midwives and care team
  • Help you recover after birth with feeding, sleep, settling, and emotional support

A doula does not replace your midwife or your partner. Your midwife provides medical care; I provide continuous emotional and practical support. Find out more in what does a doula do?

Doula packages for Kent families

Every plan is personalised after your connection call. See full details in the packages section.

  • MamaBear Prep — antenatal preparation and continuous birth support, on call from 10 days before your due date.
  • MamaBear Signature — one person for the whole journey: pregnancy, birth, and up to four postnatal visits over 8–12 weeks.
  • MamaBear Held — dedicated postnatal support for the fourth trimester, including recovery healing sessions and baby massage.
  • Fertility support — for every path to parenthood, including IVF, surrogacy, and adoption.

Support after a difficult birth

Trauma-informed care is central to how I work. If a previous birth left you anxious or hurt, we take time to understand what happened and build a plan that puts consent, communication, and feeling safe first.

Questions Kent families ask

Do you really cover all of Kent? Yes. We talk about travel and timing on your connection call, and I am on call from 10 days before your due date. A trusted backup doula is always arranged in advance.

When should I book? Most families book in the second trimester, but later bookings are often possible — it is always worth asking.

What does it cost? See how much a doula costs. Payment plans are available.

Talk it through

Not sure what you need yet? Start with a conversation.

A free connection call is a relaxed chat about where you are, what you are hoping for, and what support could look like. No pressure to decide anything on the call.
